MAJOR BUG WITH IP ISLANDS: IP infringement warnings WITHOUT a Sanctions to appeal

Summary

Squid Game Island keeps getting random IP violation flags on pixel art we made ourselves for the map. The Warning shows the flagged files, BUT there is no Sanction to appeal on any team member’s account!

Steps to Reproduce

Make an Squid Game Island with any images.
After a while stuff gets flagged by the AI.

Expected Result

A sanction should appear in our Sanction’s page so we can appeal. Stuff that is squid games shouldn’t get flagged in a Squid Game Island.. We are using the IP..

Observed Result

We get random self-made assets flagged for copyright infringement of the IP that the IP island is from!

Additional Notes

I’m not even the creator of the project, yet I am the only one on the team that keeps getting the content moderation wearnings! I get the failed content review, but I and no one on the team have a sanction about the assets in question. We’re scared we’re going to lose months of hard work due to some AI flagging our stuff without an option to appeal! Please help, support was of no help last time and told us to post here!

FORT-1052367 has been created and its status is ‘Unconfirmed’. This is now in a queue to be reproduced and confirmed.

Pretty sure I already reported this

What happened, did someone from Epic step in to help last time? I remember the warnings just went away on their own.. Not sure if someone fixed it on the backend or we got unflagged? Did you get a sanction to appeal?

No I reported that the sanctions are not even listed in my sanctions portal

What kind of files were flagged? Was it a Squid Game island too?

No it was not squid game island, it is up to devs to fix this bug

who owns the intellectual property uprising logo thumbnail

Based on standard intellectual property principles, ownership of a logo thumbnail (such as one for an “Uprising” brand, game, or event) generally resides with the creator or the entity that commissioned it.

Here is a breakdown of who likely owns the IP:

  • The Creator/Designer: If an independent graphic artist designed the logo, they own the copyright unless they signed an agreement transferring those rights.

  • The Hiring Entity/Company: If the logo was created by an employee as part of their job, or if a freelancer signed a “work-for-hire” contract, the company or person who hired them owns the IP.

  • Registered Trademark Owner: The legal owner is often identifiable by searching the Intellectual Property Office (IPO) or trademark database for the “Uprising” brand name.

If the Logo is AI-Generated:
If the thumbnail was created using AI (e.g., Midjourney, DALL-E), ownership is more complex. While some AI platforms grant users the right to use the image, they may not own the copyright, or it may be considered a “computer-generated work” where the person who made the arrangements for the image owns the rights.

To identify the specific owner of a particular “Uprising” logo, you would need to check the trademark registry or the terms of service of the entity using it.

Thanks, but that was an old sanction from september of last year, we deleted that file. We made the image ourselves though, but we removed it non the less just to make sure! The issue reported is of today and there are still no new sanctions.

Sadly, you must prove beyond reasonable doubt that you made any thumbnail.

Again, that one is not the problem. It’s the 3 other images that after months of us working on the project got randomly flagged out of the blue and are giving us moderation warnings without a sanction.
