MacOS Epic Games Launcher can't launch projects

Summary

This never used to be an issue, it’s unclear what changed. A project can’t be opened from the Epic Games Launcher, I have to open an engine version directly, then locate the project from the project launcher there. Projects opened from external hard drives or new sources are never showing in the launcher projects list. So I can’t add assets from the launcher to these projects and need to do it in engine. It seems the launcher in general is a bit broken on Mac and is not able to load my projects directly. There are no options to set directories for where to look for my projects either.

What Type of Bug are you experiencing?

Other

Steps to Reproduce

Download latest Epic Games Launcher on MacOS and Unreal Engine.
Try to launch a project directly from the launcher.
Try to open a project on an external hard drive so it appears in the launcher.

Expected Result

The project would start opening in unreal engine immediately like it does on Windows.

Open a project from an external hard drive and all the projects in that directory will appear in the projects list in the launcher, also observed this behaviour on Windows.

Observed Result

The launcher will recognise you clicked on the project but nothing will happen, it won’t open and there will be no error.

If you open a project from an external hard drive or new directory it will not become visible in projects list in the launcher.

Additional Notes

Curious if anyone else has had this issue or if there is something happening on my machine instead.
