Mac Plugin Creation

Hey there

First off: I am totally new to this engine (just transferred from unity and wanted to check out UE)

I have looked through the documentation, forum and Youtube to learn how to create Plugins for UE. I followed the steps with one exception: I can’t use VS to compile the plugin. So on startup UE tells me that there still is an uncompiled plugin and it fails to compile it and that I should compile it manually.
Can anyone help me with that? I tried simply using g++ but I’ve never used the terminal to compile c++.

My OS: MacOS 10.10.3 (Yosemite)
UE: 4.8.3
XCode: 6.3.1
