Lumen surface cache atlas oversubscribed in UE 5.8

I had a perfect scene running smoothly in UE 5.7. I upgraded to 5.8 and its totally stuck now, it doesnt even move. Seems like a surface cache atlas problem…I did all the suggestion to fix the problem but doesnt work. Any suggestion?

Same problem here.

Hello there!

Checking around the community, there have been a few cases of migrated projects not properly working with 5.8. Since it’s the most recent release, there could be a few hiccups still present, so consider keeping your project in 5.7 until a hotfix is released.

Now, if you prefer to tackle the issue, I would start by reviewing the community’s migration guide, to make sure all steps were properly followed:

If your migration was on point, then please review the following:

  • Check the status of your DefaultEngine.ini files between both engine versions, as settings and parameters could have changed during the migration process

  • Clear your project’s cache, as there could be stale elements left from the previous build. To do so, navigate to your project’s main directory, and delete folders DerivedDataCache, Intermediate, and Saved. After that, re-open the project, allow it to rebuild, and check your scene

  • Inside your project, if you have a Post Process Volume in the level, check it’s parameter for Exposure levels, specially Auto Exposure. Test with a fixed value if possible, and see how your scene reacts

Unfortunately nothing works…scene totally stuck , total disaster with the new 5.8 :frowning:
