Lumen reflections and bounces are really insufficient

I’m struggling getting at least the reflections with Lumen that I get with the now deprecated Raytracing. I’m on 5-0 Preview 2.

First image shows the correct reflections with a lot (10) bounces and sharp reflections.

The second one uses Lumen. Reflections are very odd, like a mix of screen space and raytracing.

Is there a way to fix this? It’s a total job stopper currently.

Helpful advice is highly appreciated.

Raytracing isn’t being completely deprecated, legacy raytracing is getting deprecated and then reimplemented under the lumen umbrella. You can crank up the reflection quality in the post processing volume up to 4, and make sure you’re using detail instead of global in the project settings for lumen, although they are still going to be lower quality than ray traced reflections.

According to this video, Lumen will have a max bounces setting in 5.3.

I’ve tested out a _main build of UE with the new lumen features, multi-bounce reflections work great and are generally more robust than standalone RT.
