Lumen GI weird behavior

Hi guys. I couldn’t find solution for this yet. I’m using 5.6.1. I’m working on a cinematic piece. I made a forest using PCG and lumen GI is behaving like in the pics. When I turn GI off it goes back to normal (as far as I can tell) but the other shadows go black. Does anyone know a solution for this? Thanks.


You should look into the new nanite foliage system, because your problem appears to be that the trees just despawn from the lumen scene when they’re far enough away. You could crank the view distance and lumen scene size, but your memory consumption and compute will explode. Your best bet is to set up a proxy system of some kind or to do HLOD.
