Lost local project of a LIVE published UEFN island (no Lore snapshots) – requesting server-side restore or re-link of Project ID

Summary

I lost the local project of my published UEFN island after formatting my PC on Nov 1, 2026. Lore was never enabled for this project, so there are no snapshots. The island is live with active players, and I need to keep updating it under the same island code.

What Type of Bug are you experiencing?

Lore

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Publish a UEFN project (Release 10) without Lore enabled.
  2. Format the PC, which deletes the local project files.
  3. Open the UEFN Project Browser: the project shows as Online, but says it can’t be found at its expected location, and Open is disabled.
  4. Use “Check for Backup”: “Lore was never enabled for this project.”
  5. Creator Portal shows Project Type: UEFN with no option to revert to a Creative project.
  6. Create a new project with the same name: “Project Verse path is already taken: /nooee@fortnite.com/editwar”.
  7. Create a new project with a different name (editwar_new) and upload a private version: Creator Portal treats it as a new project, not part of the live island.

Expected Result

I can restore or continue editing the live island’s project, since the published version exists on Epic’s servers.

Observed Result

The island remains live, but no editable project exists, and a new local project cannot be linked to it.
