What Type of Bug are you experiencing?
Lore
Steps to Reproduce
- Open my project PansPracticeMap7.
- Click Check In.
- Lore creates an automatic backup commit on my personal branch, then the merge into main fails.
Expected Result
Check-in succeeds and main gets my current project state.
Observed Result
Check-in fails every time with:
rehashing commit: The system cannot find the file specified. (os error 2)
at lore-storage\src\error.rs:7 - open file: …\Content\KavookS\T_KS_Gi_Speed.uasset
at lore-revision\src\immutable.rs:417 - writing immutable content from file
at lore-revision\src\commit.rs:1951 - Failed writing file Content/KavookS/T_KS_Gi_Speed.uasset to immutable store
at lore-revision\src\branch\merge.rs:3864 - rehashing commit
Details:
- Last successful check-in to main: revision 905, Sep 1 2026.
- Since then 39 automatic backup commits (revisions 906-944) piled up on my personal branch and never merged into main.
- About 3,890 files were deleted from disk after those backups. The merge still tries to read them from disk and aborts on the first missing one.
- “lore repository verify state” reports “Multiple nodes have identical name” for 23 folders (e.g. Content/ExternalActors, Content/Meshes, Content/UIse, Content/PieceSection, Content/EditSystem, Content/Assets_1v1).
- 3,048 of the deleted files are inside those duplicated folders. “lore stage ” fails for them with “Invalid path”, so I cannot register the deletions.
- After the failed check-in, the project got stuck at “OpenProject_ConnectRevisionControl - Begin” on open. “lore status --reset” fixed the opening, but check-in still fails.
- This looks like FORT-1155571 (thread “Lore checkout error”, marked fixed for 43.00 / 44.20). I am on 42.40 (CL 59343437), Lore client 0.8.6-nightly+338_3666.
I need check-in working to share the project with a team member. My local files are complete (I have a full backup). Could someone repair the duplicated folder nodes on the server side, or tell me a safe way to make my current local state the new main revision without losing the link to my published island?
Thanks!

Additional Notes
The project opens and publishes normally; only check-in is broken. I can provide full Lore.log and editor logs if needed. Please do not suggest Revert / Sync Latest, since that would overwrite my current local work.
