Summary
In our UEFN test session on Windows, ending the game while looping menu music is playing leaves that music audible in edit mode. Starting the game again adds another playback instance, so multiple tracks overlap. The issue is reproducible in our existing project. Our comparison tests point to native audio looping: non-looping gameplay music stops when we end the game, while the looping menu track persists.

Steps to Reproduce
Reproduced in our existing project:
- Launch a fresh connected Fortnite session from UEFN.
- Start the game and remain on the custom main-menu screen, where an Audio Player plays looping music.
- Use End Game to return to edit mode while this music is still playing.
- Wait and listen: the menu track continues looping even though the game has ended.
- Start the game again: the old playback overlaps with the newly started menu music.
- Switch from the custom menu to gameplay: the old menu music remains audible alongside the gameplay track.
- End the game again: the stuck menu music remains.
Here, menu and gameplay refer to custom UI screens within one UEFN game. End Game means ending that UEFN game, not reaching our custom game-over screen.
Expected Result
Ending the game stops the audio started by that game. Returning to edit mode should be silent, and restarting should begin one fresh playback instance without music left over from previous runs.
Observed Result
The looping menu music survives End Game and keeps playing in edit mode. Restarting adds another instance. Changing to gameplay music does not remove the old menu playback, and repeated starts can produce several overlapping tracks. Returning fully to the Fortnite lobby stops the accumulated music.
Platform(s)
Windows PC - Fortnite sessions launched from UEFN. Observed during testing on October 11, 2026.

Additional Notes
Comparison tests:
- From a fresh session, switching to non-looping gameplay music before End Game did not leave music playing.
- Ending while the looping menu music was playing reproduced the persistence and stacking.
- Once a menu track was stuck, later screen changes and End Game did not clear it.
Troubleshooting already attempted:
- Explicit music-stop calls at experience start/end, including synchronous cleanup in Verse OnEnd. The cleanup was observed to run, but music remained audible.
- Audio Players set to Gameplay Only with automatic playback disabled. This did not resolve the issue.
Scope: observed in connected UEFN test sessions. We are not reporting a confirmed problem in published islands or on other platforms. We have not yet validated a new minimal project containing only one Audio Player.
Possibly related report:
That report references FORT-938926, closed on February 13, 2026 with “This issue won’t be fixed”. We cannot confirm the same underlying cause, but the looping/non-looping comparison above may help narrow down the trigger.
Impact: music becomes difficult to evaluate after repeated test runs because old playback overlaps with current music. Returning to the Fortnite lobby clears the stuck audio, but interrupts the testing workflow.
