Lightmass: multi-bounced sky lighting

bottom one is the old exe renderer… not this new one… :confused: Think ur eyes are playing tricks on u. I see no difference.

Does this work on 4.16 yet??

The 4.16 version seems to want you to compile the whole game engine, no exe

I’m running 4.15.3 and this has no affect on my scene whatsoever. The UnrealLightmass.exe version from is 4.15.1. Is that the issue? Maybe my overall setup isn’t correct? I’ve got an HDRI mapped to Editor Sphere for my sky, and the same HDRI mapped to my Skylight. Is there another way I’m supposed to be doing this? Tnx!

I tried this yesterday with a very basic scene I made in 4.15 - set to 10 bounces and high quality.

It’s made a noticeable difference, I am getting overall a much cleaner and more realistic lighting, and the soft colour bounces are also a very nice addition.

anyone compiled it for 4.16 successfully?

I cant seem to run GenerateProjectFiles.bat correctly, crashes. even if I run it as admin.

EDIT: Solved it. In case someone else is having this issue I managed to fix it by installing this prior to installing Visual Studio.

i have change the lightmass.exe on my unreal engine v4.15.1
the result is better in comparison with my old lightmass.exe

i have a problem on the bottom of the boxes : there are too dark
the angles beetween walls are ok

how can i solve it ?

Those look like issues with the lightmap UVs or if the ground/cubes are intersecting a bit.

I haven’t modify the initial project file. (FarshidNaji.uproject)

Hello everyone, please HElP! i replaced the unreallightmass.exe with this one and now i can’t buid anymore!! i get this message:

have you made sure youre using the right version, theres one for 4.15 and one for 4.16.

Why isn’t this a standard feature :o Fixes so many problems with lighting / eye adaptation / lighting workflow / etc… Awesome work!

Hi , kindly some one can tell me how change number bounces of skylight ? is have different value in editor or baselightmass.ini or is connected to Num indirect lighting bounces in world setting ?
