I think it’s lightmap texture bleeding. Black parts bleeding because of lightmap resolution, like in the pic.
Would be nice to remove it.
^ If that’s the issue you’re referring to, then the only way to fix that is to increase the size of the lightmaps. You’ll probably have to increase them a lot to remove that kind of artefact though, or you can move items around in the level to better fit on the lightmap texels.
I don’t know which issue kurylo3d was referring to, but those are the only “ugly black edges” i see in screenshots. Sorry if I misunderstood.
You might be right, I’m not sure either now
Hello guys, it might be a bit off topic. But what if I don’t want to bake the lighting and just use real time lighting.
Is it possible to get the same result like the baked one?
What should I do to mimic the increase of bounce?
I am expecting some results like the interior that rafareis did…
Have i installed this thing right? I just replaced the 1 exe file inside “E:\Program Files\Epic Games\UE_4.15\Engine\Binaries\Win64”
So far no difference in the skylight or its bounces… WHat am i doing wrong? Comparison image shows both original lightmass and new exe file … 5 bounces… no difference.
You probably wouldn’t notice much of a difference in an outdoor scene like that. The biggest differences this makes is in interiors, in areas that aren’t directly exposed to any light.
I can see a slight variation in shadowing near the stairs leading down into the tunnel. The tunnel floor is slightly lighter and the column to the left(and small surrounding area) is also a good deal lighter.
Is the Github link for 4.16 broken? Typo maybe?
which one is brighter top or bottom?
What HDRI did you use ? If i may ask. Thankyou!
Thank you for share this! right now i will like a look, but i have afraid that if i try again with this setups doesnt work anyway because of the BaseLightmass.ini file, if there is not to much to ask can you tell me what change you make on it? thank you

Hi! in my folder “Program Files (x86)\Epic Games\Launcher\Engine\Binaries\Win64” i have not any file call “UnrealLightmass.exe” to replace with the modified new, what can i do?
Thank you for sharing this wonderful application. It saves me 20-30% build time. I have installed 4.16.0 (preview 3). can I still use this UnrealLightmass.exe ?
Anyone downloaded the 4.16 UnrealLightmass.exe? The download link in the first post is broken. Maybe share it somewhere?
- thanks
Hey,
is it normal that it´s only nice quality when you bake in High baking setting. And is this not a problem when you try to set up a scene and testing some stuff? I downloaded the example scene ypu have uploaded a few days ago on dropbox. With bake setting to “preview” it looks like the Photo i added below. Is this normal or am I doing something wrong?
Happend the same to me, looks like that the scene after baking on my pc! … any solution?
