Hello all, thanks for reading. I have been digging through the Infiltrator Demo trying to see some ins and outs of lighting and asset creation. I notice that the Demo has stationary lights where some cast shadows. For my project, I have to build lighting every time I move a light that cast shadows and are stationary. When I move a light in the Infiltrator Demo that casts shadows (expecting that I’d have to build the lighting), I don’t get the red text that says to build lighting.
I’ve read documentations, and I guess it comes when you have been playing around with lighting for a long time.
Im wondering, because the lighting in the Demo is awesome, what sort of techniques are they using, so that they can move stationary lights that casts shadows and not have to build lighting. Are they not utilizing light maps? I checked some of the assets, and they do seem to have light maps. There is something that I am not seeing! I wish they would do a live stream on just lighting and cool rendering tricks. If there is one, I have not seen it yet!
Thanks in advance!
