Make a smaller map, lower light map resolutions, reduce the number of assets, or spend $15 on some ram.
how do i lower lightmap resolutions?
there are no objects in game but the player character
its the terrain. it is a tiled 1017 x 1017 map. when i imported it i set to 300
because the map imported the size of a 12 foot square room HAHAHA
Hi Frostic,
You’ll want to increase the amount of RAM in your computer. 4GB is low for todays standards, especially seeing that half of that will be used by the OS leaving only 2GB for UE4.
Since static lighting is precomputed it has to generate all the lightmap textures and everything which can take a good bit of RAM depending on the scene you’re builiding lighting for.
You can also take a look at the Lighting Troubleshooting Guide from our Wiki linked in my signature as well for common lighting issues.
yea my pc can’t handle anything at all… BUT im still trying my best with what i got. sadly i cant afford a new pc or i would. its sad to say this pc CAN’T be upgraded. it is a newer pc but cant even have more than 4gig hahaha.
ill never get to beta with this washout of a pc. i cant even open the infiltraitor demo LAG SO HARD HAHA
Are you running that system on a 32-bit OS or why can’t you upgrade to more than 4GB of RAM?
Seems like your PC isn’t suited for the tasks at hand so you either find a way to get better hardware or you optimize your scene.
because it is an hp and every time i try to upgrade anything it wont. it dont even allow me to use a gfx card. im stuck using the onboard slug…
it is 64bit with windows 10. it just seems like HP blocked me from doing any upgrades.
i have asked HP and they said this model can only have up to 4gig installed and the pci express slot is non existant. its basicaly a paper weight. but all i could afford. $400 for this hunk of junk 2 years ago.
