I’m trying to get light shafts working with an isometric camera, but the only way I’ve managed to get them to appear is with a perspective camera while looking in the general direction of the light source. Is there a way to force them to appear no matter where the camera is looking?
No, the light shafts are a post process effect, they aren’t volumetric so they depend on the light source being rendered for it to work. The alternative is to use meshes for light shafts.
