Light Channel effecting animated characters eyes and lingering shadows from Animation.

I need help. I’m a newbie.
problem 1). From the images you can see that the eyes are just not there, but only on some of my characters. When I turn off (disable) the light Channel in the character mesh options the eyes return but then, obviously I loose all the affects of that light. I understand that this is removing the light from affecting the mesh. The problem is I don’t know enough about the problem to start troubleshooting the issue.
Problem 2). The third image of the boy running. You can see the shadow of his footsteps behind him. The shadows linger for a second or two after the boy runs. Again, I’m to ignorant to understand how to go about troubleshooting this issue. I’m learning the program for work and really need either ideas for fixes or knowledge to troubleshoot this on my own.
