Summary

I’m having an issue in which, I want my island’s natural structures not to be damaged by players. Set it up in settings so that only player built structures can be damaged. However, when I load in a level instance (I need to do this as my map layout will vary between rounds) any structures inside the level loader device can be damaged by players.

Steps to Reproduce

-Create a new island
-In settings, set “Environment Damage” to “Player Built Only”
-Place a level instance device and build a small structure.
-Place a level loader device, and use it to load your level instance.
-Start the game
-Break the structures inside the level loader device.

Expected Result

No structures on the map, inside the level loader device or otherwise, should be able to be damaged or destroyed.

Observed Result

Any structures outside the level loader device will be indestructible, as desired.
Any structures inside the level loader device will be able to be damaged and destroyed.

Additional Notes

N/A

-You also can’t build above structures in level loader devices. You can build at ground level, but building on structures above ground level acts as if there is nothing underneath where you are trying to build.

UPDATE:

Alright so, the issue regarding being able to destroy structures inside the loader device seems to be resolved on any new loader devices placed, but persists on any old devices.

The issue regarding building above ground level inside Level Loader Devices persists completely.

I will back up my island and replace all loader devices, then report on my findings.

Update:

Replaced all of the level loader devices.
Issue persists.

Ran a quick experiment.
Had two of the same level loader devices, one enabled at game start, one disabled at game start.

The one that is disabled at game start will have the issue persist, and structures can be destroyed.

but the one that has it enabled will not allow structures to be built.

In both devices, the issue regarding not being able to build above ground level persists.

*will not allow structures to be destroyed. This means the issue does not persist.
