Hey. - anyone know how to do this. - I have my dirtmask on the lens for post process. and looks great. - but after looking into the light. - its then permanently on. - how do we set a fade time for it to fade after hitting the light source?
Thanks!

Sounds like a bug.
If you want that kind of control you should make your own mask with a custom post process material.
then you can dim/increase based on a material parameter collection - you’ll have to pass the position of the light into the material somehow.
or just code it on the character. You can detect if a light is being looked at by the camera via a sweep for the object, do the math for the angle, use the incidence to derive the Mask’s opacity.
wow that sounds way above my pay grade lol.- I thought it would be simple, and there is a need of a “fade” time control with the post process mask. (I created my own and looks perfect for what i want. - just never goes away after its activated)
So I dunno…the rest what you said is too complex for me. im just a simple art guy! ![]()
I mean, the engine Should be doing this for you.
The only other thing I can suggest is to try a different engine version to see if this is a bug you should report.
It does sound like it, but you may also have missed some setting while setting it up…
Oh I see what you mean… right!.
Well the only thing is, there really is no setting for this sort of thing, thats the point really… its Add a lens dirt mask. yes or no…
it was the same in the previous version of the engine too. - as i had this problem a while back. (never got it resolved)
Thanks anwyay!
