So, I’m trying to do some lessons in between programming classes to stay in practice and I noticed today that my Learn tab in the UE section of the Epic Games Launcher is now missing. When I went to my profile that I had gone through student verification on, I noticed I no longer had my badges (I couldn’t find where they were but found a Q&A that seemed to note the same issue but I have no “Badges” tab under “Interactions”), my email was showing as 93f1a0b5431d476baaa594e83c90488c@email.invalid, which is definitely not what it showed before, and I can no longer seem to find any information about verifying student status.
I know I had badges previously as I needed to screenshot my profile for a previous programming class and I still have those screenshots showing my earned badges.
My question is, with the release of UE5, did all the student verification stuff go away and do we no longer have badges for the UE4 content we previously completed?
I too noticed the removal of the “Learn” tab in Epic Launcher. In fact, that was a heavy frustration when I decided to give another try at Game Development now using UE5.
Previously, I tried game deving through Standard C++ and low level libs like OpenGL and SDL. Long story short, I failed and, in time, casted my game dev will aside.
Before UE5 was released, I saw several learn content in the aforementioned tab, then I thought: “maybe UE5 fills the huge gap from the past.” Sadly, Epic removed the “Learn” tab and now I’m completely lost. Can’t even imagine where to start.
I tried reading UE5 documentation but that seems to be an “in progress UE4 to UE5 adaptation.” Also tried checking some YouTube videos but they so bloated with small talk that I lost interest.
Simply put, Epic removed the “Learn” tab and my hope for resuming my long forsaken Game Dev dream went down the drain. Now, all I can do is cross my fingers for Epic to make available an “Unreal Learn” (like Uniy Learn) at some point.
All of the badges that I had in the previous learning portal were not copied over to the new learning portal. How can I get them transferred over? I have a snapshot of the previous portal achievement badges.
I see no link to my badges, this is ridiculous, its bad enough I still am waiting on my 2021 Ninja Blueprint Challenge swag I just see getting started and Library and those links have nothing useful in them.
