Summary
Epic Games Support request #27135155 was closed after its 2026-10-22 19:53 KST reply directed me to the Epic Developer Support Hub and the Unreal Engine product. I need the supported route for a Launcher engine-catalog problem.
On Windows 11 Pro, authenticated Epic Games Launcher 20.3.5-0+UE5 opens Unreal Engine > Library but shows no engine-version tiles. The Windows MSI registration version is 1.3.210.0, distinct from the executable product version. The underlying catalog/account cause and exact UE 5.8.4 binary entitlement remain UNKNOWN; I am not claiming access was denied.
What Type of Bug are you experiencing?
UI / Tools
Steps to Reproduce
- Open the authenticated Launcher’s Unreal Engine > Library.
- Click the engine-version ‘+’ once.
- Observe no engine tile or version selector.
An official MSI Repair on 2026-10-21 returned server/client code 0. Post-Repair single tests of ‘+’ and ‘Install Engine’ opened no tile/dialog. On 2026-10-22 a single ‘+’ test also produced no tile/selector; no final install/download control was clicked. Administrator launch, Hide Game Library changes, Repair and cache investigation were already tried.
Expected Result
The version selector appears and exposes engine versions available to the account, or a clear supported explanation is shown.
Observed Result
No selector or installation dialog appears. The cause remains unknown.
Affects Versions
5.8
Platform(s)
Windows
Additional Notes
Official GitHub source access, UE 5.8.4 source build, C++ project, DX12/SM6 and Windows Development packaging were validated. Please identify a supported catalog fix, known Launcher-version issue, or authorized route to the exact official precompiled 5.8.4 distribution. Which minimal redacted diagnostics are necessary?
A SEPARATE problem already has a MetaHuman topic: UE 5.8.4 source build — unsigned ElectraPlayerPlugin blocked by Smart App Control; request supported distribution/configuration
That issue is Smart App Control blocking the unsigned source-built ElectraPlayerPlugin.dll during MetaHuman startup, not a demonstrated cause of this Launcher catalog failure. The SAC block is confirmed; the Launcher root cause is UNKNOWN. Please route any official SAC/MetaHuman guidance to the existing topic rather than treating this as a duplicate MetaHuman report. Both need supported solutions, and no shared cause has been established.
Please preserve Smart App Control, Defender, the working source build and existing projects. I am not requesting a security bypass, individual DLL exchange, rebuild, account migration or automatic download. No raw logs, binaries, personal contact details or credentials are included. Attachments: none.
