Launch Session Forces Fortnite to 1920x1080 on a 2560x1440 Monitor

Summary

When launching a session from UEFN on a monitor set to 2560x1440, Fortnite appears to launch at 1920x1080 in a small window in the middle of the screen. The resolution and display mode cannot be changed correctly while the UEFN session is running.

Steps to Reproduce

  • Use a monitor that supports 2560x1440 resolution
  • Set the monitor and Fortnite resolution to 2560x1440
  • Open a UEFN project
  • Launch a session
  • Wait for Fortnite to open
  • Observe that Fortnite appears to launch at 1920x1080 in a small window in the middle of the screen
  • Open Fortnite’s video settings
  • Attempt to change the resolution or display mode to Windowed Fullscreen

Expected Result

Fortnite should launch at 2560x1440 and allow the resolution and display mode to be changed normally during a UEFN session.

Observed Result

Fortnite appears to launch at 1920x1080 in a small window instead of using the monitor’s 2560x1440 resolution.

Changing the resolution or setting the display mode to Windowed Fullscreen does not apply correctly while the session was launched through UEFN.

The issue does not occur when Fortnite is opened normally.

The status of FORT-1123611 changed to ‘Needs Triage’. We are routing this to the appropriate team for investigation.

That’s due to settings on the UEFN. You can even change the resolution if you want, but I also don’t like it and it does not let us change dynalically to test different ratios/fulscreen/windowed and resolutions after launching the game through UEFN which limits a lot.
I constantly need to close the game, close uefn, then relaunch game first then uefn later just to “avoid” that forced behavior…

Imo they should add an option to not “force” it to anything (Currently it is always forced without option to be “neutral/disabled”)
