Laptop renders fx shaders black while desktop renders fx shaders properly

When running FX sims on Unreal out of the box on my desktop the shaders look fine, however on the laptop they are all rendering black. I didn’t adjust any parameters on either and the results are different. Any ideas what might be causing the black renders?

What is the hardware difference between the two computers? Does one run Nvidia and the other Intel or AMD? It could simply be that they are using different shader models which doesn’t support the laptop.

They are both Macs. I’ve been reading that Macs aren’t supported as well as PCs. The laptop is 4 years old and I’m sure the hardware doesn’t support the latest software. Might be time to upgrade.

If you are running DirectX 12, which I don’t think you can, try to change to Vulcan which should be supported on Mac. With that you might not be able to do as many things in Niagara or materials, but at least it should resolve some of the rendering issues.
