Hello guys,
i need help with extrange issue when importing a grayscale weightmap to target layer, and asigning it as “Non Weight Blend”. There are rare spots (They can be seen with Vizualizer > Layer debug R)
I imported a .png file (not raw R8), then rebuild the procedural grass.
There is procedural grass in zones supossed to be black(no grass).
I dont know if related to image compresion after importing the file or a bug in UE4.12
Thanks in advance.
I continued investigating the problem and found a solution and the cause of issue.
When assigning a completely Black weight image to a layer (in my case BASE) there are spots.
The solution would be to asign a completely White image to that layer and use a black color(0,0,0) with it.
But the question remains ¿why there are spots if supossed to be completely black). ¿is a bug?
If I asign a landscape grass to that layer (BASE) there is grass in the spots zones(wrong)
I marked in red circle thone spots in the image:
Are they really supposed to be black? Did your check your png file to ensure that pixels in the areas, where you are encountering the issue, are pitch black ?
Its a completely black image 4033x4033 > In BASE layer > clicked on + icon > non weight-blend
Right click > Import file.png
…and there are spots.
