If you move landscape spline segments and control points to another level, moved segments keep existing in original level but without control points. Is there any way to remove them. For example, I have a road (spline) crossing through huge landscape. Now a would like to split that landscape into few levels. Is there any way to split road (spline) together with landscape?
Cheers!
Hi ,
We have not heard from you in several days. I am marking this as answered for tracking purposes. If you are still experiencing this error, please comment with the requested information.
Hi ,
I’m sorry for delay.
I have tried to reproduce it in a clean (default blank) project. I created new blank project. Created new “Level” “Landscape_01”, and put landscape geometry into it. Then I added Landscape spline all over it. After that I created new “levels” (Landscape_02, Landscape_03, Landscape_04) and moved parts of landscape geometry using “Move to Level” tool into three new landscapes. Then I selected a spline segment and moved them into “Landscape_02” using “Move to current level” tool. Segments where moved into “Landscape_02” together with spline control points of a whole spline, but spline geometry also existed in Landscape_01 (without control points). I assume that control points of single spline cant’t exist in multiple levels. An option in (Landscape Spline - “Move to current level”) tool, to Cut/Split spline and move related points into currently selected level would be great. Is there any other way I can do that?
Thanks!
Hi ,
I was able to reproduce this on our end and have entered a bug report, UE-30672, to be assessed by the development staff.
Hi, Landscape guy here.
The landscape spline control points and the resulting meshes are actually separate, and don’t have to be in the same level. This is controlled by the “Place Spline Meshes In Streaming Levels” property on the segments. If it’s on, the meshes are placed into whatever level is under the spline at that point (approximately). If you move components to a new level from underneath the splines, it won’t update the spline’s meshes into the new level until the spline is updated. The easiest way would be to toggle the “Place Spline Meshes In Streaming Levels” property off and on again.
