Hello, this may be a really noobie question but I’ve recently moved from CE 3 to Unreal Engine 4 and I’ve been having some troubles trying to understand material creation in general. I’ve looked over a lot of references, tutorials and documentation but none seem to answer my question. In CE3 you’d usually have an overall huge texture spread over the whole lanscape and then layers of smaller more detailed textures over it that would have the colour of the background texture due to the low hardness. However, I can’t seem to be able achieve this with the Unreal Engine and I’m probably doing the completely wrong thing. So far I’ve created my map in world machine and created an overall massive texture to cover that in photoshop, I’ve also created myself a grass texture with a normal map. I imported my heightmap into Unreal Engine, created a material for my overall massive texture, successfully applied that but I don’t know how to go further. I also tried using layerblend and following this tutorial: Texturing a Landscape in UE4 (Unreal Engine 4) - YouTube. This is the result:
this is the overall texture: and this is my material blueprint: .Please take into account that I’m very new to the Unreal Engine and thank you for reading
