landscape material tesselation

If tesselation is set on detail “no tesselation” fps =120 but if change to “pn triangles” and even set param multiplier tesselation value to 0, fps go down to 30-40, its bug or somthing?

What’s your hardware config?

i7 16GB RAM and 570 RX 4GB, I use big landscape and I saw when camera is far away fps increase liitle but not much, anyway perforamnce is horrible with tesselation on even mulitplier is set 0

That sounds ok. It might well be your material then. Do you fade out the tessellation based on camera distance?

Basically the ground is further than a few metres from the camera, it should be off.

This vid shows how to do that:

Like I said before tesselation multiplier is 0 so I dont see tesselation in brush wireframe but fps drop anyway

It’s very hard to say because it could depend on so many things:

  1. Did you make the material?

  2. How heavy is the shader?

  3. How large is the landscape?

  4. Have you looked at your scene in shader complexity view? Is it all white? If so, it’s the material.

yada yada yada…
