Looks like Landscape grass instances don’t receive ambient lighting (stationary skylight):
Darker tree is an instance; brighter one - same static mesh with the same materials, but placed individually on the level.

Interestingly enough, I had to expand lightmass importance volume and re-bake lighting, even though I am using stationary skylight.
