Keeping the foliage tool constrained

Hi all,

So i’m currently working on a project where i need to apply some plants across a very large site, to a good number of planting bays. I’ve been using the foliage tool to do this as it can automate a lot of the places through the fill button. However the plants I have sometimes appear right on the edges, and spill out into the driveways or road.

Is their an easy way to constrain this, so it takes into consideration the bounding box for placement, and not just the pivot point?

Thanks

Anyone Got Some Advice?

If you have youre objects for roads and driveways as static meshes then these have a collision that will be respected by the foliage tool if you select there “no painting foliage on static meshes.” (remove the check from the checkbox for painting on BSP, …).

for straight lines, use a sharp-edged square brush to paint the foliage

Ah thanks for the tip :). I couldn’t actually find the button for doing that, the only one I can find disables it spawning on static meshes entirely

Does anyone else know of a way of telling the foliage tool to listen to the bounding box when placing items, and not the pivot point?
