I've got a render going. When I open the task manager it says the GPU is at 0%. Is this expected? Does this mean it isn't using my GPU at all?

My CPU also says it’s only at 24%. So it seems to me this render is taking a long long time (it’s been going for 2 days and still has 7 hours to go) but is barely utilizing the resources of my computer.

Is this expected behavior? Is there any way I can change this/fix this/ speed things up?

If you open the task manager, but then click on the editor, does this happen?

It does. Still at CPU 24ish% GPU at 0%

Are you baking light?

Do you have an integrated GPU also?

I don’t think I’ve baked any light. Is it necessary? Advantageous? Will it speed things up if I do?
I have an Nvidia 3090 GPU

If you’re cooking the light, it will be a CPU only process, unless you’re using GPU lightmass.

I understand, but is there a small integrated card on the motherboard? You can take a look in the device manager.

GPU reporting has been buggy with Windows for a while now. If you go under Task Manager => Performance => GPU => Click on the Copy drop down in the top right graph => Change to Graphics_1 and see if it still shows 0% usage.

GPU utilization is about 1% when I view it that way.

The only device that I have listed under display adapters in the device manager is the RTX 3090.

For both the 3D and the Graphics_1 graphs while on the GPU tab of the task manager?

I’m seeing the same thing actually. On my Ryzen 5 3600 (No integrated GPU) and a RTX 2060. My Unreal editor/packaged games don’t seem to display their actual GPU usage under their processes in the task manager. I see the GPU usage increasing, but it seems to be under the desktop device manager process instead.

Was wondering if there were updates/suggestions for this, or if living with the issue is just the solution here.
