IT appears EPIC dropped support for 4.27

I went to launch my working project, only to be interrupted with "Nuisance UPGRADE notices, and tried to locate "Prerequisites. " , and in effect destroyed my working version of U.R 4.27 ,and all my working projects, along with it. THIS is not how a company should treat it’s clients. I have a lot of money, invested in this platform, so I am not certain, how I am supposed to proceed here. I basically got shoved into version 5. , if I wanted to or not. I am debating whether . or not to close my account and be done with it.

It seems so. UE5 is not a new engine it’s just a big number to advertise with. The same old systems are present and small bug fixes don’t make it to a UE4 “branch”, instead they are only installed to the newer version of UE5. It’s expected that with the step from a V4 to a V5 not only EPIC but all companies we and they depend on will drop support for the old stuff as well… Operating systems, hardware / drivers etc. It’s a marketing move nothing new. The terms and conditions for marketplace sellers also state that you must support the X (I believe 3) latest versions of UE5 to keep your product online, nothing about LTS support for older versions.

Wish there was some LTS version but not that I’m aware of. Best thing you can do is move to UE5 and crash into a wall a few times when they make and break stuff in the latest version, it’s how they attract people these days… If only they’d make more fixes and start to prefer quality over quantity then I’d be a happier developer as well.
