Hello! I’m observing an issue where using WorldRaycast inside a PCG graph with bGetReferenceToActorHit set to true in a level that contains level instances.
After running the generation and saving, I get an error from AssetValidator_AssetReferenceRestrictions that my PCG actor soft references a missing package which has the path /Temp/…/LevelInstance:SomeStaticMesh actor.
The graph spawns static meshes as a result, nothing is connected to the output.
Disabling world raycast or not getting the actor reference fixes the issue.
Set bGetReferenceToActorHit to true on World Raycast.
Add a level instance containing several static meshes to an empty level. Place the PCG volume into the level so that it would hit the level instance with the raycast.
Save the result. AssetValidator_AssetReferenceRestrictions will produce an error that PCG actor soft references a missing package and point to the static mesh inside the level instance.
I can repro locally, and I think I know where it is coming from.
The `From Input` of the Get Primitive Data is dynamically registering itself to track all the objects you pass as input, so it knows when something changes to refresh the graph.
In this case, we are kinda screwed because of that, we can’t have any reference to the temporary actors that don’t exist in the world.
I’ll see what I can do, probably discard dynamic tracking for all the temporary actors.
Thanks a lot for the report, I’ll keep you posted when I have a committed CL, either as a hotfix, or for 6.0 if I was not able to change it without breaking the ABI.
