Summary
The Slapperoni Slice and Slap Candy Corn have issues such as not giving the slap effect or giving the slap effect but not consuming the item.
Issue #1: Consuming either the Slapperoni Slice or Slap Candy Corn while swapping an item off the ground will give the player the slap effect but not consume the item.
Issue #2: Switching to an item quickly right after the Slapperoni Slice or Slap Candy Corn is consumed will consume the item but not grant the slap effect.
Issue #3: (Slap Candy Corn only) Eating Slap Candy Corn while only having 1 will not give the slap effect.

Steps to Reproduce
Issue #1: Have an inventory full of items and have one item on the ground. Eat the Slapperoni Slice or Slap Candy Corn while picking up an item.
Issue #2: While eating the Slapperoni Slice or Slap Candy Corn swap to an item right when it gets consumed. This may take a few attempts to get right.
Issue #3: Have a singular Slap Candy Corn in your inventory and eat it (make sure to have the infinite consumables island setting set to off).
Expected Result
Issue #1: The item should be dropped onto the ground and the slap effect should not be given.
Issue #2/Issue #3: The item should be consumed and the slap effect should be granted.
Observed Result
Issue #1: The item is dropped onto the ground, but the slap effect is granted.
Issue #2/Issue #3: The item is consumed, but the slap effect is not granted.

For Issue #1: Health/Shield is NOT granted to the player, only the slap effect. Issue #2 and #3 do grant Health/Shield to the player, but not the slap effect.
