Hey all, I am having issues with reflections on the machine I am trying to model for work. We are currently testing RC to see if it something we will be able to use going forwards. I’ve spent a lot of time researching and experimenting with the program, and as you can see by the final image, I can get results I am proud of.
However, as you can see in the first image, there is a lot of glare in the shop and it leaves holes in the body of the machine (3rd picture). The second picture shows that I can get okay results when working with areas that are less reflective. I’ve tried basically everything I can think of, but I’m not able to fix the holes in the body.
Is there a setting somewhere that can help fix this? Or a different way to try and take the pictures (only thing I can think of is getting a couple standing lights with fabric in front to counter the glare.
Any advice or suggestions would be very much appreciated
Hello, Welcome to the Forums.
A temporary spray coating could be a solution.
Thank you for the quick reply!
This is one solution, but the issue is that these machines can get very large.
Some 30-40’ or more, so I think the cost in the sprays would be far too much

You can also use polarization filters on your camera: Light Polarization by Quixel | Course
From what I understand (photography is all relatively new to me) light from the sun is polarized, but inside it has to be under certain conditions for the filter to work.
I’m working in a big shop with large lights hanging from the ceiling 30-40’ above.
So I believe adding a polarization filter to the camera won’t help me because the light is not polarized to begin with.
The machines are also not always perfectly smooth, sometimes they have an almost orange peel texture. Which, again based on my limited knowledge, prevents a polarization filter from working.
If you still think it will help though, I could give it a try!
I meant something like cross polarization, where the filters are on the flash and also on the lens: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MYtVGSNDmc4&t=18s
