Summary
When the player is assigned first person from the First Person Camera device, if they have Unarmed equipped, it will not update until something that does work with First Person is equipped, only then updating after.
Normally when a player swings their Pickaxe, they have the option to jump or quickly switch items after the hit lands, however, with the Unarmed, the player must wait for the whole animation to play through before they can jump or switch to another weapon, which is just bad overall for game feel and responsiveness.

Character
Steps to Reproduce
Press attack/fire input with Unarmed equipped. Try to switch to another item/weapon in inventory after the hit lands.
Expected Result
The Unarmed item would be quickly swapped for another item or you would be able to jump after a shove.
Observed Result
Animation has to fully play through before Jump and switch inputs register.
Platform(s)
PC, PS5
Additional Notes
More minor nitpicks include:
The glowing red ‘Hit’ (or blue for shielded enemies) VFX don’t appear when hitting someone with Unarmed, be it Third or First Person, which again - game feel and responsiveness.
The default Pickaxe has a visual effect that plays when the player hits things, which would be a good addition for Unarmed, being simple dust VFX or the strike shape the pickaxe has. Again, just for visual feedback to compliment the subtle auditory feedback.
Lastly, and least important, but the Unarmed animations currently feel a bit weightless. Sprinting and movement are fine, but it would benefit a bit if there was some screen sway when the player punched or shoved something, as another feedback indicator and just cool factor really.
Playtesting while listening to tutorials has made me wonder endlessly if my hits are landing or not and these would all do wonders and make the item pop more in others’ Islands.
