Issue with UV mapping when importing from Archicad 24 to Twinmotion.

Hi all,

I am having problems when importing an Archicad 24 file using the Datasmith direct link plug in. Many objects have incorrect UV mapping - including fairly simple flat ceilings and floor slabs. The mapping is not an issue in the Archicad model however shows up once imported to Twinmotion.

I have tried adjusting the materials and applied different materials to the objects in Twinmotion however they all come out with the same warp. I have "from object UV" turned on though have tried the other options with no success.

I have attached two examples (with pics from Archicad vs Twinmotion) to better explain the issue.

Any suggestions?

Did you select the "fix UV/texture" in the ArchCad - Twinmotion Direct link settings?

My guess would be that your slabs are huge and have vertices that are irregularly distanced - for example 10 on one edge and 0 on other edges. Can you try to divide up your slabs (using the split tool) and making sure the vertices (control points) are somewhat equally distribuited along the edges?

If that doesn't work, then you can try resetting the UV mapping inside Twinmotion. Here's a video showing how: https://capture.dropbox.com/4nLPiE5mtxnl6mtL

Keep in mind that after you change the UV setting, you will have to reapply the material.

Hello ,

Thank you for posting in the community regarding your issue with the texture placement of your ACT ceiling.

First thing to do is to install the latest Datasmith Exporter plugin for Archicad, currently 5.0.3v2 found here:

If you have tried to import the content with the Max UV Precision and still having issues try the suggestion from @Emre Senoglu regarding the splitting of the slap. Also make sure your not modeling far from the 0,0,0 origin point.

Hi there,

No, as mentioned I am using the Datasmith direct link for this project. From what I can tell, there is no 'optimize geometry' option when importing from Datasmith into Twinmotion.

Hi lahznimmoarch,

Maybe I didn't express myself well.

My question is whether you have tried to turn on the "fix UV/texture" button within ArchiCad, in the "direct link settings":
