Issue with post process fog and translucent materials

I am having trouble- I have a post process effect to create fog and this gives me the effect I am looking for, but this means all translucent materials don’t show up on distant parts, where the fog is at 100% density. This makes it impossible to place any particle effects or additive materials. I was wondering if there is anyway to work around this either in the post process or translucent materials, so that they show up when the PP fog blends into 100% density.
