Issue Updating Island Version Due to Missing Files After PC Format (Error 3643)

Summary

I’m facing an issue when trying to update a new version of my island. After formatting my PC, I lost some crucial files related to the previous version of my island. Now, when attempting to publish the new version, I’m encountering error 3643, which is preventing publication due to missing “verse” files present in the originally published version.

Unfortunately, I’m unable to log in or access the persistent data linked to the officially published version of my map. The version I’m trying to update contains changes that are blocked because of the absence of these files.

I would like to know if there’s any possibility of allowing the new version of my island to be published even with these missing files. At the moment, I have no way of resolving the issue due to the format of my PC. Any assistance or guidance on how to proceed would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your attention and help!

Expected Result

I expected to be able to publish the new version of my island on Fortnite without issues, even though some files from the previous project were lost due to the PC format. What I expected was for Epic to allow me to publish the current version of the map, considering that the previous version was linked to persistent data that is now inaccessible.

Observed Result

When trying to publish the new version, I receive error 3643, which mentions missing “verse” files required for the persistent state of the island in the previous version. This error prevents me from updating or publishing the map, even after making adjustments in the new version. I no longer have access to the persistent data of the published version, which is causing the block in publishing the updated version of the map.

Additional Notes

The issue occurred after I reformatted my PC, which caused the loss of certain files related to the published version of my island map. These files are now necessary for the publishing process, but I no longer have access to them.

I’ve tried everything I could to access or restore the missing data, but I am unable to retrieve it since it is part of the persistent data tied to the published version.

The error prevents me from updating the map or publishing a new version because the system is looking for specific files that were lost during the reformat.

I understand that the persistent data is crucial for the versioning of islands in Fortnite, but in this case, I am unable to proceed without these files being either recovered or bypassed.

Follow these steps here and you should be able to retrieve the verse files from the last time you launched an edit session in your map.

Just to add what the error means is you published the island with persistence scrips and have since either… Removed the scrips and or negatively modified the persistence script.

You can only add values and not remove or negatively modify persistence after you publish for the first time.

This imo is nothing to do with formatting the pc and rather you have either deleted the said script or modified it. All verse and project assets are within your project folder so the fact that you can open the project indicates to me that this is not a issue with UEFN or caused by the pc format rather as i said above you have changed a verse persistence script after the initial publish. To fix simply revert to the original verse script you used for persistence when you initially publish. You can use revision control you import the project again if you need to.
