Island Setting is force spawning players on Team 2 even though its not selected.

Summary

Even though my join in progress is assinged to team 1 every player that joins gets put on team 2. This is breaking my game and casuing the players to spawn in the sky. See image and videos.

I’ve tried messing with all the team setting from dynamic, equal limits etc but nothing has solved this.

Steps to Reproduce

Setup 2 Teams
Enable spawn on join (turn of spectate)
Setup island setting to Join in Progress Assinged Team Override with the Assigned team as Team 1
Then have the 2nd account join in progress
You will see them join team 2 and not 1

Expected Result

Join in progress sets them to team 1

Observed Result

Join in progress sets them to team 2

Ran into this issue. I believe they use the array index for teams so whatever team you actually want them on subtract 1. So for team 1 you put 0, team 2 you put 1, etc.

Temporary fix anyway.

FORT-1013356 has been ‘Closed’. This is working as intended by design.

No it is still happening. The issue stems from Max Initial team size which should only apply to the game start and not while the game is running.

I think the issue is actually caused by what I mentioned above. In your case, if you want them to be on Team 1, you have to put 0 for the “Join in Progress Assigned Team”

Seems like if you have the Max Initial team size setup to 1 regardless it ignores that. I just diabled that and now it works well ty.

I’m genuinely confused here. Look at the videos i’ve attach.
Video 1 skip to 0.16 shows Players joining in progress are still joining Team 2 even with all the correct setting. (Team 2 is Judge in my game)

Video 2 skip to 0.12 shows me joining on my switch

  • being put on team 2
  • then sky spawning (even though spawn pads are available)
  • my backup system kicking in (teleporting over via mut zone and switching to team 1 on tele)

But as you can see bellow and the setting are correct. (You can tell its team 2 due to the only other team 2 member name being visible then after my backup system kicks in all names become visible when switched to team 1.)

Something is serioulsy going wrong with team settings in matchmaking or my map alone. I’ve tested this on my island and a new island in the editor with myself and 3 alts and had no issues BUT I can’t recreate it in matchmaking there is clearly a issue (Debug bots aint enough to recreate a good test). *I’m not sure if its due to long load times to connect and the Island setting device not picking up on Join In Progress Assigned Team setting or if its something deeper with my island or high numbers of players joining a multi team game mid round.

My Settings.
In Image 1, you can see I’ve already set up the Join Team settings using the Team 0 array.

Then in Team Settings 1, I’ve set Max Initial Team Size = o.

I’ve also set Team 2, Team 3, and Team 4 to Max Initial Team Size = 1 as well.

But as you can see in the videos, players are still are being placed into Team 2.**

With this split screen round start bug you can see how players are joining still ono team 2! Even though the array is set to 0 which = team 1. (The player counter device indicated team 2 player counts) Plus you can see that cottoe player is name only on the top screen who is on team 2) And you can see players joining on the UI joining team 2 and then switching to 1 once they spawn on the pads or in the sky by me sending a signal. This bugis a thing and is not solved!
