Is VR preview broken in UE 5.4?

I’m trying to test the VRTemplete map in 5.4.1, however when I press the VR Preview button it loads but just gets stuck, resulting with me terminating UE in the Windows 11 task manager.

Does anyone else have this issue? Is the VR Preview broken in UE 5.4 or am I now required to enable some other option/feature first in UE?

Broken for me too. I tried wired and wireless connections, Oculus link, Steam link, Virtual desktop and infusevr.

Quest 2 and 3.

Broken for me as well (VIVE headset). Only terminating UE through task manager works, can’t even exit it. I wonder if any solution is underway, was looking forward to improved performance of 5.4

The Meta Quest should work fine as long as SteamVR is turned off and you have set the Meta OpenXR Runtime as the default within the Meta Quest Link software.

The Vive headset is currently broken in UE5.4, there is no XR runtime popup appearing and so it results in hanging UE 5.4.

I am also seeing the following error in the log:
[2024.05.08-09.20.47:869][ 44]LogHMD: Error: Unexpected error on xrBeginFrame. Error code was XR_ERROR_RUNTIME_FAILURE.

This means the runtime is failing. If you’ve installed any API Layers (such as the Vive Console), try uninstalling them. I have no issues getting either of the HMD’s mentioned to work w. VR Preview. Yes, I have the Vive Console software installed. If I do not have this software installed then my Wireless Vive Pro 2 will not work, as SteamVR will say that the driver is not installed.

You can also disable API layers from the SteamVR desktop window under Menu → Settings → OpenXR.

No my hands are stuck on the floor with no input, not had time to look into but it works fine in other VR project
