Good day, is there a way of speedup sharder compilation ?
like something like a shader compiler farm or something like studios use for rendering 3d movies but then for generating simple the shaders… ? or give the option to recompile shaders with Cuda or something …
Since im trying to work with metahumans and some other things… i got over 1870 shaders in my project… i these need to recompiled because i move a folder … it almost take me my complete evening that im free and want to do stuff instead of waiting …
Specs… AMD 3900x 64GB ramm, Nivida 2070Super … and waiting for those shaders… my free time is poof gone…
Hopefully someone has a solution… or better yet … Epic is there a way to fix this and make it compile on GPU instead of CPU … ?? legit question… prehaps this is not even possible…
The only way I’m aware of is licensing incredibuild. Whereas Swarm would be for light baking.
~2k shaders taking a ‘complete evening’ to compile with your modern CPU does not add up. I have a 3700x and I cant imagine 2k shaders taking more than 20min (likely far less)
Are multiple instances of ‘Shader Compiler Worker’ running? This is the way that multiple cores are utilized. Is there anything else bogging down your CPU?
you can try tweaking the numbers on those settings, but so far I haven’t found a good combination, I know the optimal settings are going to be different depending on the specs of each machine, but I wish there was more documentation about this
