When I try to use Planar Reflections as a mirror in 5.1 I cant get the reflections to render correctly. The dimensions/scale are incorrect.
If I close my left eye it renders correctly as in ue4, acting as a mirror. I can touch the mirror with my hand and my mirror-reflection is correct.
If I open my left eye, it does not look like a mirror anymore, the dimensions are wrong. My hands cannot touch the mirror anymore as expected. The reflections are not acting as a proper mirror.
This can be tested in the VR template. Set up mirror surface and a planar reflection.
Is there some configuration I have missed or is this a ue5.1 bug?
@VictorLerp
Have you tried planar reflections in the template? Maybe you could give me your opinion.

In dx12
Is it possible to turn on Ray-Lighting mode - Hit Lighting for reflection in Lumen(with hardware raytracing) only for the mirror material. On a 4090 Hit lighting for everything is to expensive, but it seems like only doing this for the mirror could be inside budget in my scenario. This would give me a proper mirror it looks like.
In dx11
This is better on performance overall, but Hit Lighting for reflection in Lumen(with hardware raytracing) does not give me proper mirror as in dx12. The reflection is ok for everything else then the mirror, and I have good headroom on performance. In this scenario it would be nice if I could prioritize planar reflections on the mirror as long as it was the correct proportions(first question), but I cant find any way to choose ordinary planar reflections on the mirror instead of lumen reflections.
If one of this alternatives is possible, it looks like a 4090 could give me lumen and a proper mirror inside budget. Actually usable lumen and reflections in VR on a 4090.

Sorry, I’m on the same boat. I just tried planar reflections on U5.0 and 5.1 and same happens to me, only the left eye renders correctly. I just tried again in 4.27 and it works perfectly. I wish I could find the answer. I already tried switching to RHI - DirectX11 and nothing! I’ll keep researching!
Planar reflections were not working in VR in 5.0 either
GUYS!
Stereoscopic Rendering! in project settings
Please elaborate. There is no setting like Stereoscopic Rendering in the project settings, at least I can’t find one.
set Stereo instancing to off IN THE PROJECT SETTINGS, to make both Eyes work with the planer reflection in VR.
If I’m right Planar Reflections works with the both eyes in 4.27 with Stereo instancing.
