Is the shader preview broken?

Is there a reason why the shader looks better in the shader editor than the actual scene? Am I doing something wrong? Even when using tessilation it is so low in the shader editor I bump it to 10-15 and when I see it in the scene it looks nothing like the preview and I have to change it.

If I am doing something wrong can I change the settings to make it look the same?

It’s probably just the lighting in your scene that’s different…

if you or anyone knows the settings to get the same effect in the preview I would love to know. It’s just really hard to make a shader when the preview is not the same. :slight_smile:
