Supposed to be released in Q2 2014!
…though only a demo of their software, it’s about time somebody did some remake for Deus Ex; I don’t see Square Enix doing it, considering it celebrates its 15th birthday next-June.
we bought the entire quixel suite, sent a few requests for info so we could prepare our pipeline better ahead of launch thru a few different channels, they were amazingly helpful at gdc and that got us to jump and buy, but since not one response in any way, shape, or form, on the other hand substance has been on the forms, been very quick to reply to anyone posting, or thru there own contact info, in the end thats a winning deal for us as customer support is important moving forward. at gdc the subscription costs to mega scans was in the neighborhood of 15.00 if i remember correct per month. they did look awesome but since even after buying we do not get even a single one to play with kinda sucks to compare apples to apples.
I pre-ordered Quixel suite; I sent a bunch of emails with no answer at all. I can tell then Quixel’s support is poor.
But it is cheap so I sit and wait to see if the product is all that good…

It’s my hope that once the release occurs, they’ll have time for better customer responsiveness. Only time will tell. I’m oh so close to purchasing…
Honestly i would wait for an actual release as they are giving nothing back to the ones who have pre purchased it as far as assurances or any form of support, nothing to really gain giving them money in advance, just my opinion

Well, there was talk of an open beta coming. Per one of the forum threads over there, the Suite is currently in closed beta, and at least one to two months from release. If beta opens up, I’ll probably buy in at that point to help test the UE4 integration.
Why would you pre-order it? It’s not like you get it earlier, or any special things at all. In the end you might not get anything or crappy software yet spent money.
I use DDo2 and NDo2, both great programs but i usually create my details (normal maps) and textures in ZBrush the bake them over to the low poly model, that process yields very nice results.

You might. This blurb from the Quixel website probably explains some of the pre-ordering:

We have also made it possible to now pre-order the Quixel SUITE. You will then receive licenses for the current tools as well as free upgrades to the reimagined editions upon release, plus a few exclusive presets and Megascans materials to sweeten the deal.

I have to say I was impressed by this nDo2 tutorial video. The normal map editing tools look pretty fun. Of course, this is the last version, before Quixel Suite UI improvements and realistic materials. It’s a shame this version doesn’t work well with newer versions of Photoshop:
Does DDO still supports Unreal Engine 4?! or only Substance?!
Yes, DDO generates and exports texture maps from Photoshop so it will never not support UE4.
