Is my hardware enough for UE5?

I have the i5 13400f, RTX 4060 and 16gb ddr5… planning to upgrade to 32gb soon… I will be doing Blueprint and C++ programming. Do you think this will be enough for UE or should I stick to Unity? I was originally planning on doing Unreal (did it for a little while) but I was worried that my hardware wasn’t going to be good enough… and money is kinda tight right now… And I can’t use that hardware I have exactly yet because there is a few other problems with it; need a wifi 6 card, current single stick of 16gb ram is faulty/not reliable sometimes, and needs a case. Don’t want to go into further detail other than that.

Hey there @PancakeEngineer! Welcome to the community!

For the most part, your hardware will be fine once you upgrade to 32gbs of RAM as long as you aren’t using all of the more intensive higher end features.

Thank you! I’ll take that into consideration wether I do Unreal Engine or Unity as that was my biggest concern with Unreal.

I was doing Unreal but switched over to Unity because I was concerned about my hardware.

The concern is understandable if you’re trying to work with some of the new tech, as the engine is a bit heavier natively, but way heavier with all the new modules. However, like any other engine as long as you manage what modules you’re using, you can work with hardware above the minimum requirements pretty decently.

My main rig is above recommended, but my “vacation” rig is running a 1660ti and an 3Ghz processor with 16gb of RAM, weaker than yours and it’s fine for smaller to medium complexity projects. It however struggles with high fidelity projects.
