When I imported my texture library for BSP to create a texture library the memory shot up to about 5GB after import. This did not shrink in size. Are the textures loaded into memory even though they are not used in the environment yet? Or is all the memory taken up from the thumbnails? If so is there another window where i can set up a material library and only add what i currently need to the level?
Textures are 256 → 1024 at around 500 - 800 textures.
