I have some foliage in my scene. Weeds, a little grass etc. Most people seem to use dynamic lighting for foliage, however I have found I can get better results using stationary lighting in some situations. I there any reason not to use baked lighting for foliage for a small scene with a moderate amount of foliage?
If everything else is using baked lights you usually want foliage also to use baked lights. We copy ligthmap from object below foliage to have identic light condition for ground and foliage.
How to do this??
You don’t want to bake lighting onto foliage, it takes forever to bake and eats up disk space. Volumetric light maps tend to look good enough for foliage.
