Dear Forum Members,
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to seek assistance with a problem I have encountered while using Reality Capture. I have noticed that the GPS coordinates embedded in my iPhone images are not being recognized or listed by Reality Capture, despite being visible in other software that reads EXIF data, such as Lightroom.
Here are some details regarding the issue:
I have verified that my iPhone’s location services are enabled for the Camera app, ensuring that GPS data is captured when I take photos.
The GPS coordinates are indeed embedded in the image metadata, as confirmed by other software like Lightroom.
I am using common image file formats (JPEG) for my photos, which should be compatible with Reality Capture.
The images were taken in outdoor locations with a clear view of the sky, so the GPS data should be accurate.
I have checked Reality Capture’s import settings, and it appears that GPS data import is enabled.
I am using the latest version of Reality Capture, as of my knowledge cutoff date in September 2021.
Despite these efforts, I have not been able to resolve the issue on my own. I am reaching out to the forum for guidance and assistance in resolving this matter. I would greatly appreciate any insights, suggestions, or steps I can take to ensure that Reality Capture recognizes the GPS coordinates in my iPhone images.
If there are any specific settings, updates, or workarounds that I should be aware of, please provide detailed instructions. Additionally, if there are any known issues or updates related to this problem that have been released after my last knowledge update in September 2021, please inform me.
Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter, and I look forward to your assistance in resolving this issue. If you require any additional information or sample images to investigate the problem further, please let me know.
Sincerely,
Nerses Tavitian
