Interactive plants

Hi all! Now I’m working on making interactive underwater plants. Reference game Abzu. And there I found one video from GDS Creating the Art of ABZU - YouTube (timecode attached). I was very interested in this topic. The first thing I tried was through the Cable component, the first attempts were not successful, and then I found out that you can’t change the mesh of the Cable component. I started to figure it out, found a video on the documentation for this component, and saw the moment that you can attach a Statick Mesh to Cable, which was done (screenshots of blueprints and test below), and the repulsion effect is needed. But advice is needed. In general, would it be rational to use the Cable component in plants? In order not to hit the optimization hard. I also thought about graphics, which one to use, as an option, you can make stylized graphics, and make interactive material. Or is it better to use shaders. Please tell me who knows how best to do and where to look? (Davis3D UE4 Plant Interaction Migration Tutorial - YouTube - another one reference)
