Hey everyone ,
I wanted to share something I’ve been working on with my team that might save you some time—and bring your game to life.
It’s called the Etherion Foliage Plugin, and it adds foliage interaction and wind physics to your UE5 project. The core runs on C++ for performance, but everything you’ll work with is Blueprint-based—so setup is fast, and you don’t need to touch any code.
We built the plugin because foliage physics is something Unreal just doesn’t offer out of the box—and honestly, I think it should. Most developers try to implement it themselves and end up running into major performance issues, or wasting days researching setups that barely hold together. So I started working on a better solution—and after 18 months of development (with a lot of help from my team), we created a lightweight, optimized system that runs fast and sets up in minutes.
What it does:
- Foliage reacts to players & objects in real time
- Includes a dynamic wind system (changes direction & strength, with binural audio)
- Runs on C++ under the hood, Blueprint on the frontend
- Includes Object pooling for performance (no constant spawning/despawning)
- Supports World Partitions and Level Streaming
- Comes with a playable demo environment
We wanted to keep it affordable so anyone could try it—especially solo devs and small studios. If it saves you time or makes your world feel more immersive, awesome. If not, feel free to reach out and I’ll refund your dollar.

Pro Version Now Available
If you end up loving it or need more advanced interaction—like vehicle support, weapons & explosions, weather effects, and grass & landscape trails—you might want to check out the Pro version. It builds directly on the Lite foundation, so upgrading is seamless.
If you’ve got questions, feedback, or want to show what you’re building with it, I’m around and always keen to chat.
I’ll be keeping this thread updated with improvements, user feedback, and news about the upcoming updates!
