Additional Notes

I have tried a few things but nothing has seemed to work. My island has around 64,000 actors and this issue has never happened before so it must of appeared within the last 2 updates so I’m unable to build like i normally do or even test. I have tried a few things like removing HLODs and pressing build landscape but even that has not done anything.

Update it has finally started working but it took almost over an hour to load which never took that long before

Does it take long for other projects, for example new starter island?

No only my big maps but before they would take less than 5 minutes to finish preparing compared to now 45 mins to over an hour

Hi, @Bingy_YT, Could you send us your DxDiag file so we can investigate?

Thank you so much!

FORT-859313 has been ‘Closed’. We’re unable to reproduce this issue.

Should I send a Timelapse of how long it takes?

64k actors is fairly massive, try changing your virtual memory settings in windows settings and set your paging file to as big as you can make it.
Ideally a few hundred gigs big on a SSD that does nothing else but be your paging file.

But before it only took a few minutes until last update or the one before

The background music, so appropriate…

I was thinking if your project size requirements have become bigger than your paging file is set to hold in one go, the data shuffling could take up some time.

My dinosaur used to take about 10 minutes or so to do a 10k actor preparing project, then I changed my changed my paging file from its default windows handled size to 211GB on a SSD and it reduced the time a fair bit. It also does other stuff like rebuilding landscape shaders in 2 seconds instead of 2 minutes

But yeah, updates are a wheel of fortune…
