haha I’ve got it ! (in time for my birthday in November:cool:)… just updating UE4 now (for the second time… first time gave me the disk full error and now it’s trying to redownload the whole thing again). Made space / Had a look for the temp files but couldn’t find them.
I found a guy running it pretty well with a 970 on YT (has dips towards the end which I’m guessing is all the GPU particle fx, alpha overdraw etc - but before that it’s 60 most of the time). I currently have an r290 so not sure how it’ll run since I think they targeted NV hardware (TXAA etc and NV had a big breakdown on it). Will prob look similar bar the TXAA
This is absolutely stunning. The first computer game I played that had ‘graphics’ was 3D monster maze on the ZX81, things have come a long way since !
I ran the demo on a GTX 970 (8gb system ram, SSD) and it doesn’t drop below 30fps, in fact at least 30% of it was around 50fps, peaking at 60fps for the close up bits.
Oh, I forgot to mention, all settings on EPIC mode.
Can’t wait! Had a few force quits / restarts, as opening the project kept getting stuck on 95%. It’s apparently not actually stuck but just taking a long time to compile shaders and ends up using 18GB RAM (thanks to Logithx for the info). Thought I’d post it here in case anyone else was having the same issue.
I just spent a few hours analyzing it. I gotta hand it to you… that force shield is some sleek ****. Also, I am stupefied by how simple all the materials are when you drill down to the individual bits and pieces. It’s a huge network for sure, with all the blends and whatnot, but there’s barely anything arcane in it.
Could anyone shed some light why the volumetric explosion is not showing up when I open it up in the particle editor though? (Or scrubbing the matinee)
anyone else noticed the texture streaming problems during runtime and simulate?
all objects either have no texture or are a blurry 256 res.
by the way i have a 970 and 16 GB ram
